Frooti’s Journey: From Iconic 80s Ads to Fun, Engaging Campaigns
Frooti did not come on the advertising scene at the time of its launching but rather made his presence felt in the early 80’s with a great advertisement. The ad showed fashionable ladies in mini skirts jumping in a swimming pool filled with Frooti to demonstrate the drink’s cooling and refreshing aspects. This marked the start of Frooti’s journey in the world of advertising which was to be distinctive and powerful.
Reaching Kids and Adults: Frooti’s Changing Approach
Frooti’s marketing strategy in the 1980s and the 1990s was predominantly focused on the kids as their marketing efforts were full of colour, excitement and fun targeting the younger age group. However, in the second decade of existence, Frooti transformed quite a lot. It began encroaching the adult demographic as well, making Frooti a drink for all ages, not just kids. The Frooti Life Campaign: A Milestone in Brand Repositioning
Frooti changed its fortunes quite literally when it got Shahrukh Khan to endorse the brand as a brand ambassador in 2013 when the brand started its new era in advertising history. The campaign had a more interesting touch with ‘Frooti Life’ campaign which was launched with the objective of reinventing the brand. It was not just a normal advertisement Dalv as such. It turned into something like an interaction. Frooti asked its Twitter followers to call out these friends who had a bad day and promised to send a Frooti bottle to make them feel better. It was a marketing Strategy that was able to revive and build up the image of ‘Frooti’ once again as a modern day drink. There was increased participation as well as an increase in social media activity leading Frooti to be loved once again by young people.
Modern-Day Frooti: Fun, Relatable, and Engaging Ads
Frooti has, however, managed to retain its distinctive, fun element over the years. Unlike earlier advertisements which placed an emphasis on entertainment value, today’s ads have a broader aim of connecting with the target audience. The company remains steadfast in its commitment to bringing innovation in its commercials and concentrating on the emotional attachment the customers have with the product. It is more than juice sales – it is opportunity to enrich people’s life, to fill it with pleasure and fun.
2021 Summer Campaign: #LiveTheFrootiLife
Following the trend of post-lockdown growth in the market, Frooti ad campaigns collaborated with agency &Walsh and re-introduced the loveable jingle ‘Mango Frooti, Fresh and Juicy’ with a fresher twist in their new campaign ‘#LiveTheFrootiLife’. This memorable advertisement launched with their summer campaign shows everything it is like to be Frooti: having fun, being lively and tasty. Seemingly, the objective of the the campaign which included brand ambassadors Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Allu Arjun was to inject energy and excitement into the Frooti product. With the three Bollywood stars in the commercial it should have been quite captivating too. Frooti has refuted the negative effect of the pandemic by introducing a different concept and perspective with their commercials while ensuring the fun element is intact.
